Negotiating concepts of the environment i environmental management systems

This is a ph.d. project, which aims at investigating concepts of the environment, as they are developed and negotiated during the use of standardized environmental management systems. This is done using the theoretical framework of Social Studies of Science and Technology to describe routines such as the implicit use of natural science based environmental assessment tools. The project focuses on how the discussion of environmental risk is trans-lated through routines of management, regulation, legitimation and science.
