Project Details
Description
Special attention is given to identification methods. The identification aspect is gaining increasing interest, numbers only is not enough to make a constructive mycological control system. We have developed selective and indicative media and methods for direct identification in mixed cultures. Inspired by our studies of associated funga we are now developing identification methods for selected groups of species. For this purpose we are cooperating with Biotechnological Institute (ATV, Denmark) on the developing of gene probes and take part in an EC project on this matter (BRIDGE concerted action projects: ITAMOPIA and FIRST). Nationally our methods are continously being tested by Danish companies and through collaborative studies within a mycological working party under the Danish Society of Food Science and Technology. Internationally we join meetings and interlaboratory studies in International Commission on Food Mycology
