Description
A multigrid-based substructuring technique is investigated. The algorithm is intended to replace the present Schwarz alternating algorithm in Ellipsys3D in order to improve the parallel potential of the code. The overlapping blocks of the Schwarz alternating method are vital for convergence, but lead to inter-processor communication of volume data, which severely impedes parallel efficiency. Instead of the overlap, the interblock boundary conditions are treated by a so-called Dirichlet-Neuman procedure.
