Marine recreational fisheries data collection (39052)

Project Details

Description

The project is part of the national data collection programme and the aim of the project is to collect data from the recreational marine fisheries for the mandatory species listed in Regulation (EU) 2017/1004.

The data collection is done by using a combination of off-site (bi-annually web based questionnaire survey) and on-site surveys (access point and on-board roving creel) to get information on the catch and effort from individual anglers and passive gear fishers. The collected data is used for extrapolation to population level to get the total Danish recreational catch (harvest and releases) for all mandatory species.

Danish Recreational catches of western Baltic cod and Baltic Salmon are included in the relevant stock assessment i.e. in Ices WGBFAS and WGBAST respectively.
