    Iterative serially concatenated coding systems using convolutional inner codes and generalized Reed-Solomon outer codes are investigated. Viterbi and sequential decoding of the inner codes are investigated, and development of long constraint length (up to memory 10) Viterbi decoders by use of FPGA's is included in the project.
