    Measurements employing combined gas-chromatography and liquid scintillation counting have proven a powerfull tool in the study of the soil-methane interaction. Experimental results will be analyzed in the framework of a general theory involving multiple sources and sinks. This is expected to lead to determination of the fractionation parameters.
