This project aims to develop a suitable and reliable method for separation of selenium from different types of sample matrix and interfering radionuclides, and sensitive method for measurement of low level 79Se on order to characterization of nuclear waste. Besides 79Se, other long-lived radionuclides such as 36Cl, 93Mo and 99Tc are also important for the waste repository due to their long half-life and high mobility in the environment, a sequential separation procedure for their simultaneous determination will be also developed and applied in the characterization of waste from NPP and decommissioning of nuclear facilities.
