Project Details
Description
The area covers the establishment of a foreign production facility and its possible integration in an international production network. Transfer and adaptation of production and management concepts as well as technology in a broader view are examined related to the local market and cultural context. Establishments and transfers, where the parent company has decisive influence and is involved in a production cooperation, are in focus, e.g. subsidiaries, joint ventures and special developing countries programs. The overall aim of the research is to identify and further develop theoretical approaches in the area of internationalization of production.
Related to the program "Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Technology management, CISTEMA-DTU" an experience exchange group comprising 14 companies, who are actively involved in foreign production has been established. The purpose is to ensure the research to be rooted in industrial practice and not least to create a forum for mutual inspiration among the industrial participants.
