Project Details
Description
The purpose of the project has been to gain better detailed knowledge of heat and mass transfer in air solar collectors. This knowledge will form the basis for better marketed air solar collectors. The project has established the first part of the basis for the development of air solar collector systems for dehumidifying buildings and heating ventilation air for buildings. This first part has included the following activities:
1. Establishment of a test facility for side-by-side testing of air solar collectors.
2. Test the effectiveness of marketed air solar collectors
3. Construction of numerical models of air solar collectors in CFD
4. Validation of CFD models
5. Optimization of the design of air solar collectors using validated CFD models
6. Contribution to the development of test methods for air solar collectors in the framework of IEA SHC Task 43
