Project Details
Description
Technology alone is not the solution for increasing flexibility and adaptability of current control systems in manufacturing. A new approach, characterised by co-ordination of distributed autonomous and intelligent units, is imperative. This research is aimed at developing an intelligent and distributed control structure by developing a method, architecture and drawing guidelines for application and development of a multi-cell control system. The research involves combination of theoretical research, practical study, and test implementations. The project's success depends on the adaptability of the results, which will be exemplified by case studies in industrial firms and an experimental test-bed at DTU.
