    Project Details

    Description

The aim of the study is to establish a fundamental knowledge of the corrosion mechanisms acting on materials for use in biomass fired power plants. The knowledge created is based on laboratory exposures of selected materials in well-defined corrosive gas environments. The corrosion attack and the ash coatings will be analyzed by use of modern material analysis techniques based on SEM-EDX and XRD. The corrosion progress will be modelled by using the modelling program ThermoCalc and correlated with the experimental analysis results.
