Description

The primary objective of GOAL is to transform the soil stabilisation industry through latest sensing systems, automated data-driven design solutions and sustainable materials. This will provide a solid base to industrialise, automatize and decarbonise soil stabilisation. The secondary objectives are: 1) to conduct a laboratory investigation on clays and peat stabilised with industry by-products, 2) to assess the environmental and economic impact of industry by-products for soil stabilisation, 3) to upscale the laboratory results using full-scale tests, 4) to validate distributed fibre optic sensor and shear-wave velocity techniques to quantify spatial and temporal improvement of soil, 5) to identify patterns between execution data, monitoring data and engineering properties enabling automated design solutions and 6) to transfer knowledge on governance structures and stakeholders catalysing the use of industry by-products in building and construction to the soil stabilisation industry.
