Project Details
Description
In recent years, more and more concentrating tracking solar collector fields are in operation in Denmark. Compared to traditional flat plat solar collectors, concentrating solar collectors have the advantages of working at medium to high operating temperatures with high efficiency and low heat loss coefficient. Sun tracking mode can increase yearly thermal performance and defocusing is easy to be carried out to avoid overheating in summer periods. However, there are very limited research on mathematical modelling and experimental validation for concentrating solar collector fields.
The project is to develop and validate a general mathematical model for both flat plate and concentrating tracking solar collector fields aiming to evaluate and predict the thermal performance of the collector fields under in situ test conditions.
