The GAIA project - funded under the ACTS program (the Advanced Communications Technologies & Services program under the Fourth Framework for EU research) -will develop a sector and supplier independent generic architecture for information to support multilateral information trading. The GAIA architecture will facilitate location and delivery of information, content and digital services through a scaleable brokerage model broadly applicable to distributed information supply chains and networks.
