    Project Details

    Description

The project is concerned with topological fluid dynamics. That is the description and classification of flow patterns appearing in incompressible fluid flows. The analysis uses methods from the theory of finite dynamical systems and bifurcation theory to describe the qualitatively changes that can take place in fluid flows. The method gives qualitative descriptions of common occurrences in fluid dynamics such as `flow separaration',`flow attachment' and the generation of `separation bubbles'.
