    Description

The aim of the project is to investigate the suitability of the relatively inexpensive Chinese produced evacuated tubular solar collectors for different types of solar heating systems under Danish conditions.
Different types of evacuated tubular solar collectors produced by Chinese companies will be investigated. By means of this investigation quality, price, efficiency and export possibilities for the different collectors will be elucidated.
Based on the investigations 4 collectors are selected. These collectors are installed in a SDHW system in the Institute's test facility. The test system is tested under typical realistic conditions so that it is possible to estimate the suitability of the tested collectors.
The yearly thermal performance of different types of solar heating systems with different evacuated tubular solar collectors and with normal flat plate collectors is calculated. Small and large SDHW systems, systems for combined space heating and domestic hot water supply and large solar heating plants will be investigated.
Based on the investigations the suitability of the evacuated tubular solar collectors for different applications will be elucidated.
