    Project Details

    Description

Eurorim is funded under the ACTS program. The main objective of the project is the production and dissemination of guidelines and the development of a cost-profit model. Both of these activities addressing the deployment of advanced multimedia services in the competitive market of post 1998 Europe. Guidelines will cover aspects which are considered strictly technical, such as identification of relevant alternative technologies, and aspects which are more service oriented, e.g., evaluation of service acceptance, identification of sector actors' and users' requirements, etc.
The contribution from CTI is related to creation of a business model for multimedia services for residential customers. This includes a market analysis of multimedia services, which estimates the demand and identifies the main actors on the multimedia market, and a techno-economic cost analysis estimating network and production costs related to provision of multimedia services. This activity is co-ordinated by Nokia in Finland, but involves also partners from Italy, Belgium and UK.
