Project Details
Description
Such probes are used to measure the charge occuring on the surfaces of solid insulators. The effect of both the probe geometry and the system geometry upon the probe response is being actively studied. To-date this has allowed a correct interpretation of published data to be made. The project will be extended to encompass the effects on recorded data of polarisation in the bulk dielectric. Transient behaviour of space charge accumulation at dielectric interfaces is also viewed as an area of high interest for future studies.
