Project Details
Description
In a joint effort by ELTEK and NKT power cables, the space charge distribution in power cables and the related insulating materials is determined when exposed to high electrical fields. The methods to be used for these investigations will be the Pulse ElectroAcoustic (PEA) method and the Laser Induced Pressure Pulse(LIPP) method.
The initial test are completed and from 01-03-99 M.Sc.E.E. Jesper Hjerrild is involved in the project as industrial Ph.D.-student.
The intention with the project is to optimize different insulating materials for high dielectric strength both under AC- and DC-conditions.
