Development of a saucepan with built-in heating element and continuous power control. The thermal capacity of the saucepan is reduced as much as possible in order to reduce the energy content of the sauce pan itself. The heating element is distributed over the bottom of the pan in order to obtain an even temperature distribution. A single, simplified prototype has been constructed. Cordless prototypes for connection to a controller panel are under construction. Previous experiments indicate that the energy consumption can be reduced by 30-50% relative to a standard saucepan on a solid disc heating element.
