Efficient performance of large infrastructure: a geomechanical approach towards sustainable design

    Project Details

    Description

Prediction of long-term deformations of modern infrastructure is challenged by adverse soil conditions, such as high plasticity Paleogene clay. This project aims to describe the physical mechanisms associated with the deformation properties of these clays. A mathematical framework, to model deformation behavior will be developed to describe the findings. Further, possible intervention methods to control deformations will be explored.
