Project Details
Description
The project deploys boulder reefs in coastal areas in the Western Baltic Sea and investigates the effects on marine mobile fauna. The investigation is using underwater cameras deployed on the seabed, in control areas and in dedicated reef areas. The study is based on a before-after-control-impact design. The study is comparing mobile fauna associated with single large and several small (SLOSS) reefs made out of identical amounts of rocks. The idea is to identify the most beneficial reef deployments for marine biodiversity and fisheries.
