DoLEDLast - Does LED products last to give the promised energy savings?

    Project Details

    Description

The high energy efficacy and long lifetime of LED products provides huge energy savings. They don’t always meets their rated lifetime and fail prematurely, destroying the expected energy savings. The project will investigate the lifetime of different LED products, using the new endur-ance test that the EU eco-design regulation demands from September 2021. The project will develop new monitoring systems for laboratory and industrial measurements following the en-durance test. Results shall show the effect of the test and if it can predict early failures. New models for predicting the LED product lifetime will be developed. Results will be disseminated to the lighting industry and consumers.
