Development and value optimisation of a Danish fishery for greater weever (113100)

Project Details

Description

The purpose of the project is to develop a sustainable Danish fishery for greater weever in the Kattegat, where a large portion of the catch is used for human consumption. To enable fishing for greater weever, the stock size and potential quota must be determined. This is to ensure that the fishery can be implemented in the technical legislation and operated sustainably in the future. The gears currently used for fishing greater weever will be optimized so that the fishing becomes as efficient and gentle as possible, with minimal unwanted bycatch. The project's goal is to ensure sustainable resource utilization, value-optimized through significantly increased use for human consumption, benefiting the entire value chain.
