Current additively manufactured (AM) Stainless steels need post-treatment to
achieve acceptable corrosion resistance, at the cost of the strength and hardness of
the material. SupStainAM combines superior corrosion performance with high
strength already in the manufacturing step.
The goal for the InnoExplorer project is to develop SupstainAM powder for
commercial use in existing metal AM equipment. The results will be of interest for
companies involved in powder manufacturing, metal AM, as well as end-users in
medical, food and saltwater applications a.o.
