Project Details
Description
The aim of the project is to create the scientific basis for development of corrosion and wear resistant steel produced by an conventionel sintering proces.
The mechanism of corrosive wear is strongly dependant on the metallic material as well as the coroding and wearing environment.
In the first part of the project a test equipment will be built, which allow simultaneous control of the abrasive wear and eleectrochemical measurement of the chemical corrosion proces.
A series of sintered materials of the stainless steel type will be analysed with respect to corrosion and wear under different conditions to establish a model for the combined destruction rate.
Based on the model there will be given proposals to new alloys for production by the powder metallurgical proces
