The overall objective of this project is to design and develop a framework to aid decision-making when defining, configuring and offering Product-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions, by means of action research in production equipment for Aasted. Those solutions are to enable alternative sustainable circular business models based on servitised offerings. The principal aims will be to provide a structured way in which Aasted can assess the readiness level of its existing product and technology portfolio for PaaS, integrate design for service and sustainability principles into the development of its existing products and technology for PaaS, and define value proposition alternatives.
Additionally, the goal is to build a design guide for sustainable PaaS and a model to assist the creation and evaluation of PaaS business models for Aasted. Those models are envisioned as use-based or result-based service models with incorporated financial and environmental sustainability potentials and considerations.
The project is being carried out in collaboration with the Manufacturing Academy of Denmark (MADE).
