Description
The topic of chaotic synchronization is presently at the forefront of much research in the mathematically oriented dynamical systems theory as well as in more applied fields of secure communication and dynamical systems monitoring. The aim of the present project is to study the appearance of riddled basins of attraction and on-off intermittency for systems of coupled one- and two-dimensional maps. Special emphasis is given to the role of the so-called absorbing area in accounting for the destinction between local and global riddling and between hysteretic and non-hysteretic blowout.
