CAD for Building Design

    Project Details

    Description

A number of prototypes of a conceptual modeller have been developed based on the results of the Design Philosophy project. A connection has been established between AutoCAD and the modeller allowing a conceptual model to be made from the editor of AutoCAD using special menus for UNIX and DOS/Windows. Concepts are related to each other and represented by geometries and texts, and concepts may represent parts of a building and any abstract phenomena including programs and objects. It is for example possible to activate calculations by pointing geometrical elements in AutoCAD representing the concept of a program.
The modellers have been tested and implemented into the teaching in CAD and building design at the department.
