Project Details
Description
The background for this project is the Post Danmark transfer from state monopoly to comprehensive privatisation and liberalisation which calls for extensive processes of adjustment and improvement of efficiency. As a basis for decisions regarding planning of delivery analyses have been made of key figures for distribution of mail. These key figures include statistics of number of days when mail is delivered to customers within a stipulated period of time and number of mailings per customer per day. Customers are subdivided into categories.
In the analyses correlation is determined between number of customers per day who receive mail and the total number of mailings per day within the various customer categories. The description of this correlation is used for calculation of time consumption for distribution of mail within a stipulated geographical area (district). The analyses are based on regression analyses, a.o. Calculations of uncertainties in estimates are included in the analyses. Through these determined correlations a means for planning necessary manpower in a district has become available.
