Arginine degradation in lactococci

    Project Details

    Description

Arginine is being degradated by several lactic acid bacteria through the arginine deiminase pathway. In the current project, the genes encoding the enzymes responsible for the pathway is being cloned and sequenced. Whether the expression of the genes are subject to regulation and which mechanism are involved will be investigated.
