Project Details
Description
Background:
Prediction of chloride ingress is central for the cement and concrete industry. Thermodynamic modelling provides a tool making such predictions more scientifically sound. At present data on chloride containing phases is not included in GEMS thermodynamic data used in other NanoCem projects.
Objectives:
A: Expansion of the thermodynamic data base to include chloride containing solids based on available data.
B: Documentation of the data available for thermodynamic modelling for prediction of phases in Portland cement systems with chloride and identification of possible needs for further studies
