Project Details
Description
The possibilities for application of fracture mechanics in structural integrity assessments are studied in this project. Of special interest is the evaluation of the risk of brittle and ductile fracture, fatigue, and environmentally assisted cracking, in bridges and offshore structures. The main aim of the project is to create the basis for setting up evaluation procedures, which are internationally accepted. The project is planned to be carried out within an EU-supported programme with participation of about 25 universities, research institutes, etc., from 14 European countries.
