Application of advanced material models in the analysis of metal forming processes.

    Project Details

    Description

Main focus in the present project is on modelling and analysing metal forming processes such as rolling, extrusion and powder compaction. Material models based on crystal plasticity are being used to describe microstructural effects in the material during deformation, e.g. material texture and deformation induced anisotropy. The powder compaction studies concentrate on induced anisotropy and composite powders as well as the subsequent heat treatment, sintering. (Financed by the FREJA research programme).
