Analyses of Hourly Electricity demand

Project Details

Description

Today all large and many small customers have hourly metering of their electricity consumption and by 2020 all customers must have hourly meters. Based on data from the hourly metering of electricity consumption by individual customers, this project:
1) analyses consumer behaviour and identify key factors determining the level and the profile of hourly consumption ,
2) develops scenario models for long-term projections of hourly consumption improving inputs to energy system models and grid-planning,
3) analyses how changes in hourly consumption affect the energy system and the need for flexibility and
4) suggests policy instruments and tools that may change consumption profiles and manage potential demand flexibilities.
