Project Details
Description
A wet milling process for processing of coca beans has been investigated. Traditionally milling of coca beans has been performed under dry conditions. The basic idea of the project was to investigate the possible production of a liquid coca mass suitable as a constituent in viscous products where coca is used in significant amounts. The project has proven that wet milling is indeed possible. Small particle sizes equivalent to those obtained in the dry milling process can be obtained. By controlling the temperature carefully during the wet milling process a highly promising coca base has been produced. Further investigation needs to be put into application of this basis mass.
