Description
The collisional relaxation of
a 1-D gas of molecules with
one internal degree of
freedom is studied, in
particular with respect to
the role of a many-particle
adiabatic invariant that
exists when the timescale for
the internal degrees of
freedom is much shorter than
the collisional timescale.
