    Project Details

    Description

Penicillium chrysogenum is an important producer of penicillin antibiotics. In the first step of the penicillin biosynthesis the three amino acids L-a-aminoadipic acid L-cysteine and
D-valine condenses to form the tripeptide ACV catalysed by the multifunctional enzyme ACV synthetase (ACVS). In this project this enzyme is purified and characterized.
