Description
Ph.D. A great deal of the Danish accident prevention has been based on the comprehension that the enterprises and their actors act rationally, i.e. concentrate on solutions such as shielding of machinery and regulation of human behaviour. This project will study accident prevention focussing on the organisational level of the enterprise. Studies of previous examples of culture changing methods will be used, as well as intervention theories on enterprise culture, analyses of the organisation and accident research. The empiricism includes a testing of the methods developed. The testing will be carried out in a medium-sized, Danish industrial enterprise supervised by employees from the industrial health service. Then the method and the process will be evaluated. It is expected that the project contribute to the area of research development of the conceptions of safety culture and development of methods of intervention to prevent accidents at work by changing the safety culture.
