Profile

I am a regulatory toxicologist, Ph.D., with ~20 years of experience in assessment of pesticides and some experience with biocides, REACH regulated chemicals and preclinical assessment of medicines. From training and being involved in the development of several pesticide risk assessment guidelines, I have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of European chemical risk assessment achieved by combining regulatory toxicology and cutting-edge toxicological science. This work has been conducted in elaborate collaborative efforts with industry, regulators and academia.
My major strengths are a robust experience in assessing regulatory animal studies combined with experience and in-depth knowledge of new approach methods, and translating this to an integrated assessment with a special expertise within the areas of dermal absorption, carcinogenicity, endocrine effects, toxicological relevance of metabolites, mixture risk assessment, Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOPs) and in vitro developmental neurotoxicity testing. Especially, performance standards and integration of in vitro methods for regulatory purposes have been a focus the recent years.
