Profile

Riccardo Sprocati is a Postdoc at the Technical University of Denmark, where he was awarded a PhD in 2022. He also holds a T.I.M.E. Double Degree MSc between the Technical University of Denmark and the University of Padova (Italy).

His research aims at developing multiphysics simulations and machine learning solutions for the investigation of the potential of electrokinetic (EK) techniques for subsurface applications. The ultimate goal is the proof of concept of green technologies that use only low-intensity electric fields to mobilize and transport solutes and contaminants in the subsurface. Applications include in-situ remediation of contaminated sites as well as in-situ leaching and recovery of valuable metals and metalloids.

His interests range from sustainability, software development, machine learning and novel technologies to solve global environmental challenges.
