Research areas

Rasmus Larsens research expertise in image analysis and multivariate statistics. His main research themes include modelling and analysis of biological shape, and the use of such models for extracting biological object boundaries from images. He has applied these models to application in medical image analysis and food technology. Moreover, he has been a driving force behind doctoral education at DTU and DTU Informatics in particular. He has participated and coordinated activities in the graduate school programmes
  • CISP - Copenhagen Image and Signal Processing graduate school programme
  • BIOP - Biomedical Optics and New Laser Systems graduate school programme
  • ITMAN graduate school programme at DTU Informatics
He has been a member of the DTU PhD Committee for the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics since 2001, and served as chairman of the committee since 2005. He is presently director of the graduate school at DTU Informatics with 100 Phd students enrolled.
