Ongun Berk Kazanci, Ph.D.

Ongun is an Assistant Professor of Indoor Environment and Room Conditioning Systems at the International Centre for Indoor Environment and Energy, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He completed his Ph.D. on “Low temperature heating and high temperature cooling in buildings” in 2016 at the Technical University of Denmark.

His main research interests are indoor environmental quality, human thermal comfort, low temperature heating and high temperature cooling systems (particularly water-based radiant heating and cooling systems), their integration with renewable energy resources, thermodynamic analyses of HVAC systems and building components, building energy performance simulation and applied Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

He has received several grants for external research stays and conference participations, and awards including Professor P.O. Fanger’s award from the Danish HVAC society (DANVAK) in 2014, DTU's Young Researcher Award in 2016, and REHVA Young Scientist Award in 2017.

He is a member of DANVAK, REHVA TRC, IBPSA-Nordic, and is an associate member of ASHRAE, where he is actively involved in several technical committees.
