Profile

Dr. Bayat graduated with a master of mechanical engineering at the Sharif University of Technology in 2017 and then did his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering throughout September 2017 - December 2020 at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He then continued his research career as a postdoctoral candidate at DTU from 2020 to 2021, and now he is working as an assistant professor (tenure-track) at the department of civil and mechanical engineering (CME) at DTU.

Dr. Bayat is currently involved in teaching fundamental courses such as heat transfer (41814), applied finite element analysis (41809) and introduction to finite element (41812) at the bachelor level, as well as parts of more advanced master-level courses like thermo-mechanics (41748) and numerical heat transfer (41747).

Dr. Bayat's main research area until at least 2025 will be mainly on multiphysics and multiscale simulation of advanced manufacturing processes and numerical and experimental investigation of heat and fluid flow conditions of high-performance single and two-phase thermal management devices. But his long-term goal is to extend these studies to space-related and biological scientific projects.

His group is currently focused on multiple research projects and he invites enthusiastic students interested in topics such as metal 3D printing (mainly modeling and monitoring), and experimental and numerical heat and fluid flow analyses to send their resumes for consideration for potential B.Sc. or M.Sc. projects.
