Expertise

My field of research is focused on the detection and characterization of nanoparticles in bioligical tissues and and food for regulatory and toxicological purposes. I also have experience in bioanalytics methods for structural characterization of biomolecules and am interested in the development of nano-carrier systems for delivery of proteins and essential food components. I have experience in nanoparticle synthesis and am skilled in a wide range of analytical techniques including:

  • Asymmetric flow field flow fractionation
  • Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry in conventional and single particle mode
  • Optical spectrometry and light scattering techniques (dynamic and multi angle)
  • Optical and electron microscopy (scanning and transmission electron microscopy including energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy)
  • Fluorescence spectroscopy and microscopy
