Kristoffer Hougaard Madsen arbejder fortrinsvist med kortlægning af hjernens funktioner ved hjælp af funktionel magnetisk resonans hjerneskanning (fMRI). Specielle kompetance områder omfatter fortrinsvist data analyse og design af fMRI studier herunder støjreduktion i fMRI data. Arbejdet har fortrinsvist omfattet det visuelle systemer og Kristoffer har udviklet metoder til kortlægning af synet i både normale og folk med forskellige synslidelser. Kristoffer Hougaard Madsen blev uddannet som civil ingeniør fra DTU i 2004 (retningsprofil: biofysik og komplekse systemer). Umiddelbart herefter påbegyndtes et Ph.D. studium som skulle videreudvikle avancerede metoder til analyse af fMRI data med henblik på studier af det visuelle system i mennesker.Expertise related to UN Sustainable Development Goals
