My research deals with a different (‘metabolic’) trajectory of implementing planetary awareness in the design of the built environment. This is achieved via an interdisciplinary apporach by mixing architectural design and engineering with industrial ecology (Usto 2023) and broader Systems Thinking.
The purpose of this is the minimizing of material consumption through intelligent systems design and regenerative technology implementation in the design and construction of our cities towards meeting climate goals and social sustainability.
