Personal profile

Profile

Associate professor in structural mechanics, with research interests:

- Dynamics of structures: Modeling and simulations

- Damping of structures: Passive damping and active control

- Smart structures: Piezoelectric structures and devices

- Mechanics: Material modeling and numerical solution techniques

Main emphasize is on the modeling aspects, in which generic ideas and concepts are optimized to improve model accuracy with reduced model sophistication.

Teaching appointments involve:

- Structural mecanics (undergraduate course)

- Applied mathematics (undergraduate/graduate course)

- Structural dynamics (graduate course)

The structural mechanics courses are based on the textbook: 'Statics and Mechanics of Structures', S. Krenk and j. Høgsberg, 2013, Springer.
