Personal profile

Profile

I like to use state-of-the-art technology and interdisciplinary approaches in order to both (a) characterize biocatalysts and (b) improve these systems to benefit the biotechnological and green chemistry industries. I am mostly interested in understanding how industrially relevant enzymes fulfill their roles at the molecular level, searching for the structural and dynamical factors underlying their functions. I am also interested in using this knowledge to optimize enzymatic applications for sustainable production of all sorts of economically valuable molecules, such as biofuels, polymers, and pharmaceuticals.
