Research areas

I hold a BSc in civil engineering, an MSc in management of technology and information systems, and a PhD in civil engineering. Before working in academia, I acquired nearly two decades of practical engineering experience, first as an air-force engineer working mostly with airfield pavement infrastructure, and later as a self-employed pavement/geotechnical consultant. My research passion and area of interest is pavement infrastructure, and specifically the thermo-mechanical modelling and analysis of pavement materials and pavement systems.

Research interests

  • Thermo-mechanics of pavement infrastructure.
  • Semi-analytic pavement modeling and analysis.
  • Pavement infrastructure sensing and digital twinning.
  • Constitutive modelling and characterization of asphalt concrete.
